Automatic film advance, transport & rewind.Focusing: Autofocus above water and fixed focus underwater.Viewfinder: magnification changes when switching lens.It was initially sold with a set of accessories like this big detachable finder that can be used with goggles. There’s also a close-up mode for underwater macro. Similar to the Canon Sure Shot A-1 that comes next, it has autofocus on both lenses but switch to zone focus when under water. It also come with a build-in flash, which unfortunately can’t be switched off. It’s waterproof up to 5 meters (16 feet) which, except for serious divers, it will be more than enough to cover most situations. Rugged, durable, floating and shock-proof rubber shellĪlso known as the yellow submarine, the Minolta Weathermatic 35DL stands out with a dual lens: a standard 35mm f/3.5 switchable to a 50mm f/5.6.That being said, for less than 20€, the Kodak Water & Sport is the best way to get a first taste of under-water photography.

Loaded with KODAK ULTRAMAX 800 ISO and 27 exposures, the Kodak Water & Sport claims to be the sharpest waterproof single-use film camera but there isn’t much to compete with so we’ll take their word on that. The lens is sand and snow scratch resistant but will also resist from sunscreen smudges which can blur (even more!) your pictures. It’s lightweight, compact and also floats which is nice to avoid loosing pictures and let them sink at the bottom of the ocean 🌊 It’s made of durable, shock-proof rubber shell and can go down to 50 feet (15m) which should be more than enough for the occasional snorkelers. The Kodak Water & Sport is a waterproof disposable camera that will survive where your regular camera won’t!

Hence why I’ve been looking for a rugged and waterproof camera that will stand a chance of surviving all these calamities 😅įrom my research, came out of few potential candidates to do the job and thought it would be interesting to share with you the 7 best waterproof/weather-resistant/baby-proof film cameras that I could find.Įither you want something cheap and easy to use or need a camera that offer full control and interchangeable lenses, you’ll certainly find the best waterproof 35mm camera for you in this TOP 7 going from the cheapest to the most expensive! With the recent birth of my son, I’m also anticipating the many “first times” coming ahead and want a camera that will be able to withstand the gentle care of a toddler. This leads to frustration because these cameras aren’t the right tools for such situations and I miss many opportunities to capture these memories on film.

So every time I’m heading to a risky place, I can’t help but fear for my gear, wallet and deserved blames that Madam On Film Only will have for me if something would happen with my gear. Those of you following me on Instagram already know that I’m the lucky owner of some of the best film cameras ever made but none of them has any sort of waterproofing and it’s no secret that these little gems don’t get along very well with water, humidity or sand.
