While you definitely can't check emails, take pics or answer calls from this smartwatch, the other features should make it very attractive. The main advantage the G-Shock STB-1000 has over every other smartwatch around is that the battery is rated at 2 years and it has 100-meter water resistance. Other notable features include some degree of customization from the iOS app along with the ability to find your phone through the Phone Finder function. It can also display data from the Abvio Runmeter GPS, Walkmeter GPS, Cyclemeter GPS and Wahoo Fitness apps with more to come soon. STB 1000 UPDATE
It was introduced in Update 1.65 'Way of the Samurai' along with the initial Japanese Ground Forces tree. They should be available soon and the price is about $100. The STB-1 is a rank V Japanese medium tank with a battle rating of 7.7 (AB) and 8.0 (RB/SB). The two Casio Bluetooth Sports Gear models will be the STB-1000-1 (black and gray) and the Casio Sports Gear STB-1000-4 (black and orange). Given its Bluetooth connectivity, respectable battery life, and durable construction, this is a watch you can (casually) wear much more than other fitness watches. This goes back to the notion that Casio envisions people wearing the Sports Gear beyond merely working out. It serves as an affordable means of having a fitness data display on your wrist assuming you already have a smartphone and don’t necessarily want to invest in a dedicated workout device. Remember that the Casio Sports Gear STB-1000 is merely relaying information the fitness apps collect – mostly using the phone’s senors and GPS to track data. The watch itself is no better than a standard Casio without it being connected to your iPhone – and ideally you’ll be running a fitness app. Given our preference for Casio watches when it comes to sports activities, the Bluetooth Sports Gear collection should prove a worthy addition to your active lifestyle if you want a reliable fitness watch and are comfortable carrying your iPhone with you while working out.
